Her bicycle is a minimal, brekeless trackmachine, equipped with the Simpson Lever Chain, which many wrongly thought gave a mechanical advantage over standard chains.
She rode professionllly for the makers of the chain.
Helene Dutrieu had an outstanding cycling career before taking to motor sport and aviation.
In 1913 she became probably the first female aviator in France, and was awarded the "Légion d`Honneur" [1]
